Sooner Strong 5K

This year is the 100th anniversary of the OU Army ROTC, and it kicked off its centennial celebration in boot camp fashion: with a 5K.

The second annual Sooner Strong 5K competitive race started at 9:30 a.m. March 25 outside of the OU ROTC armory and ended at 2 p.m. in the same place, where lunch and cake was served.

This year’s race included new categories for special competitors, including ROTC alumni and JROTC students, with the competitors facing off against one another in their respective categories.

Also in attendance was the OU RUFNEKS, Boomer the OU mascot, the Spirit Squad and OUr Army ROTC Color Guard.
