The OU Army ROTC program proudly celebrated the Spring 2026 Commissioning Ceremony, honoring a remarkable group of cadets as they officially took the oath of office and joined the ranks of the United States Army as Second Lieutenants. This significant achievement represents years of commitment, perseverance, leadership development, and academic excellence.
​
Throughout their time in the Sooner Battalion, these newly commissioned officers have demonstrated exceptional character and dedication while embracing the Army Values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. Their hard work and determination have prepared them to lead Soldiers with confidence and professionalism in the Active Duty, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve components.

As they embark on this new chapter of service, they carry forward the lessons learned, friendships forged, and traditions upheld during their ROTC journey at the University of Oklahoma. We have no doubt they will continue to make a positive impact wherever their military careers take them.

The Sooner Battalion is honored to welcome Lieutenant Colonel Fred Janoe as the guest speaker for the Spring 2026 Commissioning Ceremony.

His distinguished service, leadership, and commitment to developing future Army officers serve as an inspiration to our newly commissioned Second Lieutenants as they begin their own journeys of service to our nation.
We sincerely thank LTC Janoe and CSM Beavers for joining us on this special occasion and sharing in the celebration of this significant milestone.

The OU Army ROTC program proudly celebrated the Spring 2025 Commissioning Ceremony, where we welcomed a new cohort of 2nd Lieutenants into the ranks of the United States Army. This milestone marks the culmination of years of rigorous training, academic achievement, and steadfast dedication to service and leadership.

Each of these newly commissioned officers embodies the Army values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and excited to watch them take the next step in their careers as leaders in the Active Duty, National Guard, and Army Reserve components.

Their journey through OU Army ROTC has not only prepared them to lead with confidence and competence but also to serve with distinction in defense of our nation.

FLAG HANGING IN ARMY ARMORY BAY

We’re excited to share a significant update to the ongoing improvements at the Armory. As part of our continued effort to enhance and honor the history and purpose of this space, we’ve recently completed the installation of military flags on the Army side of the Armory bay.
​
This has been a developing project that reflects our commitment to creating a respectful and visually impactful environment. The addition of these flags not only brings color and presence to the space, but also serves as a tribute to the service and dedication of our Army personnel.
​
We’re proud of how this effort has come together, and we’re looking forward to continuing the development of both functional and commemorative updates throughout the Armory.
ARMORY RENOVATIONS

The graciousness of the Mulva Family Foundation allowed for a full renovation of the Armory and a portion of the CATE 4 in support of AFROTC HQ – this renovation resulted in a 100% overhaul of the entire inner portion of the facility, boasting new state of the art amenities, spacious classrooms, showers, cadet study lounge, weight room, and Cadre and staff offices. The outside remains the same but with some amazing enhancements; all new period style windows, doors, fresh mortar, and refreshed brick. Come on by to take a look at the new Armory!
